My First Solo Traveling Experience

Hey you guys!

So as my previous posts have mentioned, I just did my first ever solo traveling to Australia. Yep I mentioned it again and again sorry guys hehe. So anyway, I was really excited. Like really really excited. I meant hey, going abroad and travel to a new place alone is a new experience for me. I managed everything by myself. From finding the flight tickets, hostel room, itinerary, budgeting plan etc.

I’m gonna be honest with you guys, it was a lot of work but it was worth it! At first I just wanna watch Bruno Mars World Tour Concert at Sydney but then I thought heck I’m gonna travel around Australia. So after I bought my Bruno Mars ticket, I planned the other things. It took me a while to actually buy the plane tickets since I just started a new job. And I still had to apply for VISA as well.

Bruno Mars World Tour Concert at Qudos Bank Arena. I’m lucky I’m small so I could got into the front crowd :3

So after things got a little bit quieter at work, I started to spend some of my times arranging everything. I gathered some documents for the VISA, booking some tickets, looking for places to visit etc. Since I only took my leave for 6 days (yep, I spare 6 of my leave days just in case I want to travel again. And of course I do :p) so I can’t visit all of Australia. I decided to visit Sydney and Queensland. I really wanted to snorkel at Great Barrier Reef but sadly because of the time limit I could not do it. That’s why my journey ends in Fraser Island (not complaining at all though!). I will talk more about it in my other post πŸ™‚

Yep I watched concert alone. I always feel like I could make friends during my journey anyway so yeah, I met someone there.

The visa application was easy as long as you have everything with you! So anyway I went to Australia on March 15th and arrived there at March 16th since the concert started on the 17th. Everything has upside and downside, obviously. I personally dont really like to take picture of myself during traveling (not anymore at least! I used to love it). So in taking-picture department, I have no problem at all! So anyway, it was my first concert as well. Yep I watched concert alone. I always feel like I could make friends during my journey anyway so yeah, I met someone there. We actually became friend until now! She also watched the concert alone, a hardcore Bruno Mars fan I believe hehe. I got to the hostel at 1am or something, I was so tired but hey I had to go to Blue Mountains the next day at 6am! hahahah

The famous Bondi Beach at Sydney. I will definitely post VISTA about this picture!

On 19th March, I flew to Brisbane and met my best friend who studied there. But the next day I went to Noosa and Fraser Island, where I stayed in another hostel for 3D2N aaaannd got another new friends. Then back to my friend’s place again on Thursday evening. It is really nice to have friends or relatives that live abroad as I usually crash on their bedroom, yep bedroom not couch hahahah. Networking Benefit 101: free accomodation and visit places like local :p Anywaaayyy on 23rd March I visited Gold Coast and then took a rest the next day. Well more like slept during the day and being active during the evening/night hahahah. My best friend took me to Eat Street with her friends. Since I had to flew back home at 7.20am –  yes, 7am, I can barely sleep!

Networking Benefit 101: free accomodation and visit places like local

You know what, one of my friends who live there (yeah, I have another friend in Brisbane) actually decided to go with me to the airport since we had no other time to catch up! She picked me up at 3am ish! Well, I am so lucky to be surrounded by good people in life! Another Networking 101 Benefit!

My first solo traveling experience was exciting for me! I love every second of it even when I got lost or when I almost lost my phone due to my stupidity hahaha. I will definitely do solo traveling again! How about your first time? Have you done solo traveling? Or will you try it? Leave me some comments below πŸ™‚

VISTA #2: Bitterness and chasing sunset

Hey you guys!

Welcome to my VISTA #2! My recent trip was to Australia aaaand I think it is very obvious since I mentioned about it. A lot. Uh-huh, if you pay attention to it, on my blog posts, I mentioned about it again and again hahaha I am just too excited because it was my first ever solo traveling (more post about solo traveling here and here)

But anyway, let’s take a break from Australia trip for now. I was scrolling down on my travel pictures and I found this one. So I took this picture at Senggigi Beach, Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Indonesia. It is an old picture though, I took this picture last year. So, before I went to Lombok, I haven’t had any vacation for 2 years which made me bitter all the time (sorry folks that affected by that!).Β After I graduated, at first I wanted to pursue my degree but I didn’t get the scholarship. I decided to give it one year, if I still haven’t got it then I will apply for job and scholarship at the same time. I resigned my job as an assistant lecturer and decided to study German (still do until now by the way!). At that time, I was applying for a scholarship in Germany but got rejected. That time, I had dilemma, you know like you still want to study but you cant be jobless for way too long so I need a job. After finishing my German course, I took a certification. I was really bitter all the time because even though I was unemployed, I haven’t had any chance to go out as in vacation. After I took another certification – yep, I took 2 certifications in less than one month, I decided to go on a vacation.

Sunlight reflection at Senggigi Beach during sunset

Whenever and wherever I go, I always chase them, at least I got to get sunrise or sunset! I am a sunrise/sunset chaser I guess!

I decided to go to Lombok with a tour agency. It was a 4D3N trip but I decided to go there earlier so it was 5D4N for me. This picture was taken on my 3rd day in Lombok. On my third day in Lombok, we went to Gili Trawangan and spent our day there. After that, on our way back home we got the chance to see sunset at the beach. We were given 2 options, which were Senggigi Beach and I forgot the other beach but those two beaches are close with each other. On my first day, I went to Senggigi Beach alone so I did not really mind which beach to choose. The others decided to choose Senggigi Beach since it is famous for its sunset. It was pretty cloudy though but when I see the reflection of the sunlight, I was mesmerized. Wow, it is so beautiful! It was a really nice and quiet evening for us at the beach. Very calming. Very beautiful. I felt more relaxed there. You could say that I always love sunrise, sunset, beach, mountain well basically nature! I always think how amazing the nature is. That’s why whenever and wherever I go, I always chase them, at least I got to get sunrise or sunset! I am a sunrise/sunset chaser I guess!

You could reflect on yourself if you are having a really really bad mood. Maybe you just need vacation just like I did!

After that trip, I became less and less bitter. Now, I am back to my cheerful self! So I guess what made me so bitter all the time in life was because I just need some getaway! So maybe, you could reflect on yourself if you are having a really really bad mood. Maybe you just need vacation just like I did!

Well, have you ever experienced this mood like me? What did you do to ease that bitterness? If you travel like I did, where did you go? Leave me some comments below! πŸ™‚

The view from the toilet #ToiletViewGoals :p

It’s like a live music with a nice view “restaurant” for me

When I first arrived there, I was mesmerized by the view that I got from the toilet. It was so pretty! Since it was autumn there, so the leaves started to turn brown. You know what, I always, always, went to the toilet though I didn’t have to go. You know, just to enjoy the view that the toilet has offered hahaha. I know this is stupid but I once brought my food there and ate thereΒ and enjoyed the view while eating and listening to the music from those clubs across the street. It’s like a live music with a nice view “restaurant” for me hahahha oh my god that’s bad I know. Since the neighbourhood was so lively, I also liked to go to the toilet at night. Watching people roaming around the street, some were sober some were drunk, looking at the clubs across the street, etc.

I can never get bored of the view. I love the hostel very much! The neighbourhood, the location that is sooooo near to the train station which made my life much much easier! Oh God I just love Sydney and Australia overall. If I got a chance to live there, I won’t hesitate not even one second.

Have you ever mesmerized by the view that a toilet has offered like me? Hahaha. Do leave me some comments below πŸ™‚

Cheers,
