Number 14 in the list of the writing challenge is describing my style. Sooo I would like to take the opportunity to talk about fast fashion. I believe many of you know what fast fashion is and how it is really bad for the environment.
Sadly, I would describe my style as fast fashion.
No, not because I buy clothes pretty often according to trends from catwalks/influencers on social media so I can be the girl who get the new hot look. But because I mostly buy from apparels that are apparently known for big players in fast fashion industry.
I’ll be honest that I dont always buy the most sustainable choice in the market. Simple, because it costs more money. I’m a student that have no income but still have bills to pay. Oof. I tried to at least buy none or at least less clothing from fast fashion brands, at least the one that I know. Yea yea, I am not very educated on this stuff really. And yea, today I just found out that some brands, which I thought are not fast fashion brands, apparently ARE fast fashion brands (RIP English for repeating same words again and again lol).
Wow didnt see that coming! And now, most of my stuffs are from fast fashion brands.
Well, I dont buy clothes/shoes etc often really because I dont like to have many stuffs. But still. Not very proud of my fashion style description. Eh. But I’m planning to learn more about it and hopefully will not buy from them again. Soooo it’s a good start I guess?
If you read my previous VISTA, you could see that after the farewell party, I had to go to the box early in the morning the next day. That’s because our box held our first CrossFit competition and I was one of the crews. WOOOOOPPP.
So I contacted one of my friends if she still needed more help during the event but apparently they had enough crew and judges. However, one day before the event, she contacted me and asked if I could help her as the scoring team. So I said yes. I was really excited about it!
The night before I went out with my colleagues for karaoke so I was rather tired in the morning (check out the story here). I arrived at the box at 6.30 am but no one was there so I had to wait for around 15 minutes before the others arrived. Then we started to prepare the equipment and everything. Since I didnt have yellow (crew)/orange (judge) t-shirt, my friend lent hers to me. But her t-shirt was orange so I had a different colour hahaha.
After the briefing, many athletes came and registered. Then they started to warm up, while I was trying to figure out the leaderboard and scoring system. One of us brought 3 bottles of coffee. OH THANK YOU. I woke up realllllyyy early and I was sleep deprived so I was really sleepy. Ended up drinking too much, my stomach hurts hahahha.
Anyway, the event went real smooth and fast. I was so amazed by our teamwork actually. We were really efficient and fast. Right after the heat, the judge gave me the score sheet and I inputted it right away. The other crew was really fast at preparing the equipment for the next heat. WOAH. It was sooo fun. Looking at those athletes compete was making me excited!
The event itself started from the idea of one of our coaches, Coach Oka and his team member, Sofia and Adit, when they competed in Malaysia. They thought, hey why dont we create event at our box as well? And boom! The brainstormed the WOD, the event, everything! Damn it was so fun! I really want to participate in another event in the future. I guess I really am stuck in this cult huh? 😀 Once you’re in you cant go back!
I’ve been pretty occupied lately with packing etc. Eh, it took me a reaaaaalllllyy long time because I watched the CrossFit Games at the same time. Hahaha. Wow I cant believe it that I am going to move abroad soon. I hope my VISA is issued soon (praying real hard).
Yesterday I went to morning class (8 am). WOW. Morning. Class. What a rare sight of me going to the box at the morning right? And it was Sunday. I usually still on my bed, hugging my pillow by that time hahha. So lately, I have been working out at the box again and I noticed some things. My body of course started to change again due to working out, more proper sleep pattern/duration, kind of healthier diet etc. BUT I dont really pay attention to my body that much anymore now. Like okay, it changed that’s nice but it’s not my first priority anymore.
I wont lie. Of course I want that “perfect body” and I used to working out with that as my goal. My sole goal. But not anymore now! I find the changes in my body as a bonus. I, now, work out because I find it fun and it’s great for my health. Of course I still need to improve several aspects, for example my strength and endurance are still not that good but I am still working on it. Because I used to do it for “the perfect body,” when I didnt see the results, I just felt down and upset. Now, not anymore! I barely pay attention to those changes 😀
